Energy Loss in Multifamily, Green Building, Energy Efficiency
Event Description

Multifamily buildings are notoriously large users of energy, and few owners are tuned into how excessive their usage is. Once quantified by apartment, or better, by square foot, energy and water usage are very good indicators of where a trained energy auditor needs to proceed on their site investigation.

After touching upon the basics of conspicuous consumption, the discussion will focus on how to identify common, but not obvious, signs of energy loss and missed opportunities for efficiency in existing residential buildings. This 'forensics' investigation will help residents, superintendents, managers and coop/condo board members identify ways to improve the performance of their buildings.
