A Pathway to Forest Resilience Presentation and Panel Discussion
Event Description
Rock Creek’s forests are the heart, lungs, and soul of the region, providing critical climate and social resilience for the more than one million people who live, work, and recreate in the region. However, the forests of Rock Creek are failing, burdened in particular by the pressure of invasive plants and the challenges of climate change.
Join Rock Creek Conservancy to learn about the Rock Creek Forest Resilience Framework, which offers strategies for adaptive management of Rock Creek’s forests, and what we’re doing to save the forest. A panel discussion will follow with speakers from the Conservancy, Rock Creek Park, Montgomery Parks, and the District Department of Energy and Environment who will share more about how we’re working collaboratively to address these challenges and how to get involved.
Registration is free to join us on November 4, from 6pm to 7:30pm either in person (limited space) or on Zoom.
