Event Description

Join Building Energy Exchange for a panel discussion showcasing the deep energy retrofit of The Fairview, a large multi-family residence in Forest Hills.

A deep energy retrofit may seem daunting due to its required capital investment and time. Yet, a holistic, integrated retrofit plan is the key to better building performance and major energy savings. Buildings can also use the retrofit as an opportunity to improve resiliency to extreme weather events by adopting on-site energy generation systems like combined heat and power (CHP) and solar photovoltaic panels.

This panel is comprised of representatives from The Fairview, NYSERDA's Multifamily Performance Program (MPP), as well as from the engineering company and contractor that completed the facility’s gas conversion and installation of high efficiency domestic hot water heaters, solar photovoltaic panels, and CHP. Members will share their project implementation experiences and discuss the energy savings achieved, system performance benefits created, and rebates and incentive programs utilized to help fund the retrofit.
