New York Countdown to the EcoDistrict June 15th 5pm-8pm
Event Description

Greentopia is partnering with Reconnect Rochester, The Community Design Center of Rochester, The People’s Climate Collation, Foodlink, and representatives from the City of Rochester and Monroe County to present the EcoDistrict Plan in the context of the work being done in Rochester today. Public input on the draft plan will ensure that the plan will be implementable through community action, instigated and managed by Greentopia.

The EcoDistrict provides a framework for a neighborhood to move towards ambitious environmental and social justice goals in a reduced time frame. The EcoDistrict is built from a “ground-up” community-based effort vs. a “top-down” government-imposed effort. Greentopia has identified projects in the fields of Energy, Livable Communities, Transportation & Mobility, EcoSystem Management, Materials & Waste, and Agriculture & Food Systems that can benefit residents, develop new green spaces and reduce the area’s overall greenhouse gas footprint.
