Event Description

Please join RENEW Energy Initiative (REI) on Thursday, August 15th at North Farm Condominiums (right along Narragansett Bay), Bristol, RI for our summer celebration and discussion on the flourishing community solar market throughout the US and in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

What is Community Solar?

Community solar refers to local solar facilities shared by multiple community subscribers who receive credit on their electricity bills for their share of the power produced. It provides homeowners, renters, and businesses equal access to the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy generation regardless of the physical attributes or ownership of their home or business. This is of particular interest to low-to-moderate income customers and builds a stronger, distributed, and more resilient electric grid.

After the discussion, we invite everyone to stay and celebrate summer with us. We will share exciting things that are taking place within the organization; including our newly designed website, our newsletter initiative, sponsorship opportunities, and a new membership structure.

There will be a light buffet of sandwiches and salads, as well as complimentary beer and wine.
