A workshop on small scale forestry concepts and practices will be presented on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Greenvale Vineyards, 582 Wapping Road, Portsmouth. The talk, catering to landowners with five acres or more will be given by staff from the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District and RI RC&D. Topics to be discussed will include wildlife habitat, forest insects and disease, invasive species, and alternative forest products.

The event is free, but space is limited. Register by emailing or calling RI RC&D at 401-500-0399.
