Event Description

Affordable Housing is a Climate Solution is a 4-part webinar series that MCAN is co-hosting with the Boston Society for Architecture. The goal of this series is to start building a community of advocates committed to pursuing legislative, regulatory and industry actions to ensure residents have safe, healthy and energy efficient homes that are affordable.

The second webinar focuses on the community engagement dimensions of retrofits and different approaches to working with residents during various phases of retrofits. Challenges and problem-solving approaches within this work should be part of an advocacy agenda moving forward.

The speakers will discuss approaches to supporting low-income residents, with an emphasis on increasing awareness and access to energy upgrade opportunities and challenges to complex building construction. We will also learn from case studies in development projects and solar installation programs.
