NESEA Pro Building Tour: Low Embodied Carbon Institutional Building In New Hampshire, May 5
Event Description

The NESEA for an exciting Pro Tour of this 7,744 square foot two story wood frame office building. The building and associated site infrastructure were designed to meet the highest level of energy efficiency and resiliency and large solar array was installed to achieve a net zero energy use goal. The building is 100% electric and operates off solar renewable energy. There are no fossil fuels connected to the building.

The project team hopes that this project can serve as an example of how to design an attractive, low energy building with low embodied carbon. Attendees will learn about how the locally harvested wood was sourced and used on the interior of the building and about the careful attention paid to air sealing and insulation detailing, resulting in a welcoming building which uses a minimal amount of energy.
