Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Green Collaborative Meeting: Sustainable Buildings, January 21, Wellesley, MA
Event Description
Buildings contribute approximately 53% of Wellesley’s town-wide carbon footprint and approximately 70% of the municipality’s carbon footprint, which includes schools. This Collaborative meeting will focus on the state of the art of sustainable/net zero energy (NZE) construction and its application to commercial, municipal and residential construction.
The Collaborative will also provide opportunities to:
Stephanie Horowitz, Managing Director, Zero Energy Design -Stephanie orchestrates projects that range from net-zero energy workspaces to Passive House certified homes. Stephanie was recently awarded Boston Home Magazine's Best Sustainable Architect. Her work has garnered a design award from the Boston Society of Architects as well as Citation for Sustainable Design.
Fred Bunger, Vice Chair of the Wellesley Sustainable Energy Committee (SEC) and Marybeth Martello, Sustainable Energy Director – Fred and Marybeth worked with Wellesley’s Facilities Management Department to develop Draft Municipal Sustainable Building Guidelines (MSBG) and a one-page Summary. Fred and Marybeth have presented MSBG to departments, boards and committees across town and are making final revisions to MSBG based on the feedback they received.
