September 19 in Providence and September 20 in Newport
You are Invited to the Screenings and Discussion!

The RI Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby is bringing filmmaker Diogo Castro Freire to the Ocean State on September 19 and 20, 2016.

Diogo, founder of the ADAPTATION NOW project, will be showing his short documentary, Facing the Surge, in Providence on September 19 and in Newport on September 20. This pilot film is the first in the Adaptation Now series of documentaries sharing the stories of communities on the front lines of climate change as sea levels rise, extreme weather events occur, and changing seasons begin to disrupt lives.

Interactive sessions with the filmmaker, with a coastal climate adaptation scientist, and a policymaker will follow the screenings in Providence and Newport. Audiences will be able to ask questions and engage in dialogue about climate change and its impacts, coastal adaptation practices, and about policies to reduce the carbon pollution that contributes to global warming.

The events are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
