Event Description

Home to 26 bird species, five bat species and thousands of honeybees, the Javits Center green roof has become a sanctuary for wildlife, while helping to reduce energy consumption throughout the convention center on Manhattan’s West Side.

Join Urban Green Council NY for a members-only tour of the second largest green roof in the United States, led by the project architect on the Javits Center renovation. This tour will share an in-depth look at this massive project and how it has contributed to a 26 percent reduction in the facility's annual energy consumption.

      Peter has extensive expertise in the design, coordination, and execution of large-scale buildings in urban settings. He has been integral to the development and implementation of FXCollaborative’s project standards and procedures, including effective and comprehensive green specifications for both LEED and non-LEED projects. He is the project architect for the renovation and revitalization of the Javits Center.
