Event Description

Since October is fire safety month, the ROCKWOOL team has planned a discussion all things fire and how it pertains to residential building safety and protection.

SPeakers include returning ROCKstar Elite Builders Travis Brungardt and Joe Cook from Catalyst Construction in Prairie Village, KS, Randy Williams (pictured above) from Willcon Inc., Chris Laumer-Giddens of LG Squared, and Dan Edelman with ROCKWOOL.  Special Guest will be Keith Nelson of ECS who is a fire expert!! 

This month we will be going over the following key points and will be discussing in easy to understand terms:

  • Passive vs Active Fire Protection
  • Different wall assemblies to reach and exceed code
  • Melting temperatures of different insulations
  • Considerations when it comes to passive fire design
  • Wildfire areas and constructing a more robust home with non-flammable materials
