3. Identify opportunities and benefits of improving health and well-being through design

About WELL:

The WELL Building Standard is a performance-based system that focuses on measuring, certifying, and monitoring building features that impact human health and well-being. This standard is administered by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and focuses on various aspects of buildings, including air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, material, mind and community. It provides guidelines and requirements for creating spaces that promote occupant health and well-being, as well as criteria for creating healthy and sustainable indoor environments for all building types.

There is an increasing demand for healthy buildings in Canada - and across the globe. Employees and occupants are more conscious of the impact of indoor environments on their health and productivity. Employers and building owners are recognizing the value of providing healthy spaces to attract and retain tenants, improve employee satisfaction, and enhance productivity. The WELL Building Standard offers a recognized framework for achieving these goals.
