The Future of GHG Emissions Measurement in Cities, RMI
Event Description

The nature of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement in cities is changing. New advancements in remote sensing and increasing amounts of available urban data have introduced a new opportunity for the creation of open-source platforms and information systems to provide GHG emissions information for cities in previously unrealized temporal and spatial scales. Please join RMI in conversation with city representatives and data experts for a discussion on the future of GHG emissions measurement in cities and what the next generation of GHG measurement tools offer. The session will include an overview of specific challenges, pain points, and needs that a next generation GHG information platform should address for cities. This will be followed by a panel discussion about how new data sources, climate science, and artificial intelligence can bridge the gaps.
