Event Description

As architects, builders, and developers, what part do we play in creating a city with opportunities for everyone? Join for the first event in Green Building Alliance's Social Equity in the Built Environment series as you explore tools to measure and improve the city’s inequalities. One will gain perspective about how the building industry fits into larger conversations of social justice in the region, and discover frameworks to be more proactive in daily work.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will define social equity and equitable development as they relate to design, construction, and operations of the built environment.
  2. Participants will explore the roles that built environment practitioners play in social equity within their communities.
  3. Participants will explore how some green building rating systems and frameworks promote social equity.
  4. Participants will identify actions we can take as designers, builders, and developers in order to center equity in the work that we do.
