Procurement to Accelerate the Safer Chemicals Revolution
Event Description

The role of procurement in driving adoption of safer chemistries by creating incentives that outweigh the inertia of our current system.

Global markets are inundated with products that contain hazardous chemicals, are manufactured using hazardous chemicals, or both. Humans, wildlife, and the environment are constantly exposed to these hazardous substances, with many documented negative impacts.

The vast majority of toxics exposure and injury is unnecessary. Safer alternatives are readily available for many hazardous substances currently in use, and methodologies for developing safer chemistries are well advanced. What is lacking is the motivation and the will to make the transition to a safer chemicals economy.

Procurement has the power to break this deadlock.

Join us to understand how procurement and supply chain leaders can drive adoption of safer chemistries across the board by creating incentives that outweigh the inertia of our current system.
