Event Description

Symbiotic relationships between building automation, energy management and fault detection and diagnostic systems are the way forward for some but not others. Opportunities and challenges of various building automation systems will be explored, as well as how to navigate the murky waters between whole-building and equipment-level control systems. the importance of continuous commissioning, introduce resources to test data accuracy and review our predictions of what lies ahead as we look to the future, and determine how much to rely on technology versus humans to make system adjustments.

Please note that in order to receive continuing education credits, you must be present for the entire training; partial credit cannot be given.

AFE: This program supports a topic within the body of knowledge outlined by the Association for Facilities Engineering CPE/CPMM/CPS Certification Programs, and should count as 0.6 CEUs (6.0 hours) toward re-certification.

AIA: Members of the American Institute of Architects will receive 6 LU for this instructor-led face-to-face course.

BOC: This course offers up to 6 points for BOC certified operators.

BOMI: This course is approved for 6 continuing professional development points toward renewal of the professional designations offered by BOMI International.

GBCI: Seventhwave is a provider of GBCI approved courses for continuing education. This is a GBCI approved course and offers 6 CE hours. Seventhwave is also a USGBC Education Partner.

WI-DSPS: Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services has approved this course for 6 CEUs for the following credentials: Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification, Master Electrician License.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Cornell University.

      Gary specializes in field execution of commissioning activities such as the verification of installation, review and sampling of test and balance results; verification of building automation systems and controls programming and function; and functional testing of mechanical and plumbing systems and equipment. He has 44 years of experience with building automation and controls, maintenance and servicing of mechanical systems, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and electricity.
