Event Description

Global support for the circular economy is gathering momentum -- and the building industry is quickly beginning to embrace its principles. But what is it? And how can your material choices transform the concept of a circular economy into a practical proposition for green buildings? Join USGBC Minnesota to learn how choosing and using safe, healthy, sustainable materials made to remain in perpetual cycles of use can help transform a green building into a circular building.

This “circular economy 101” will cover the basic principles of circular economy and emerging best practices for applying these principles to the built environment. Learn how to maximize the positive impact of your materials choices and address multiple client goals (from material health to zero waste to resiliency) by prioritizing Cradle to Cradle Certified™ products; hear from manufacturers about the way they’re using the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard to develop safe, healthy materials and products for the circular economy, and find out how LEED V4.1 and WELL v.2 are prioritizing circular materials.
