Event Description

International Women’s Day 2023 is just around the corner! Don’t miss this upcoming CWEEL Event, ‘Advancing Women’s Leadership in Climate Action.’

Women and girls disproportionately suffer the impacts of climate change. Given their unique perspectives and experiences, they have been stepping up as climate leaders and change agents worldwide, be it in boardrooms, classrooms, legislative chambers, laboratories, community halls, or marching on the streets.  CWEEL is convening a virtual panel discussion featuring three women climate leaders from various parts of the world – Debora Ley, Athena Ronquillo-Ballesteros, and Ghina Annan.

Women around the world have been leading climate action on many fronts – as researchers, scientists, policymakers, activists, educators, and many others. To celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, the Council for Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL) is convening a virtual event titled “Advancing Women’s Leadership in Climate Action” featuring three women climate leaders from various parts of the world – Debora Ley, Athena Ronquillo-Ballesteros, and Ghina Annan. They are all innovators and thought leaders in their respective sub-fields.
