Clean & Affordable Homes: The Barreto-Freymiller Tour, a Free Home Tour, February 28, Macomb, Illinois
Event Description
As we turn up our thermostats for winter, we must face our increasingly high gas bills and ask ourselves, is this the most efficient way? No! There are better, cheaper, healthier alternatives to heat your home.
Join Illinois PIRG Education Fund for an intimate community gathering and walk-through of a fully electric home. Along the way, you’ll learn about the home electrification process and experience the benefits for yourself! Clean and Affordable Homes: The Barreto-Freymiller Tour is an opportunity for Macomb area residents to learn about issues with gas heating and how to plan for a future without gas.
Illinois PIRG Education Fund will discuss when it's the right time to make the switch, how you can save money, and how our community can move towards cleaner, more affordable options for home heating. It won't be too technical; Illinois PIRG Education Fund wants to show how the environment, your finances, and your health can all benefit from getting gas out of your house.
This event is about picturing a future away from gas, making the move to electrified homes, what your future could look like, and the hurdles our communities will face during the transition.
Note: Free and open to all. Food and beverages will be provided.
