The Audubon Society of RI Seeks Camp Instructors and Assistant Instructors for Summer, 2017

Camp Instructor and Assistant Instructor Positions Available at The Audubon Society of RI

We are looking for qualified Camp Instructors and Assistant Instructors to lead fun, engaging environmental and nature activities at our Summer Camps for 2017! The positions entail teaching and leading nature and environmental education activities for children pre-k to seventh grade. There are two camp locations in which these positions are available: The Environmental Education Center in Bristol, and the Caratunk Wildlife Refuge in Seekonk Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement natural history lessons, activities, games, and arts and crafts, may involve supervising on a rotation basis Before and After Camp Care. Supervise campers’ health and safety, and maintain clear communications with staff, parents and campers. Attend staff trainings, and maintain general camp upkeep. Camp Instructors and Assistants may also oversee Junior Counselors that will assist during the week.

Qualifications:

Camp Instructors must be 21 years or over, and the Assistant Instructors 18 years or older, must be able to work independently. Camp Instructors and Assistant Instructors should have experience and background, or be currently enrolled in a degree program, in the following: Marine Science, Biology, Environmental Education, Science, Outdoor Education or other similar focuses. Must love working with children, and have a background in teaching, or experience working with children, preferably in a camp or nature setting. Additionally, must be able and willing to work outdoors and have excellent communication skills. Must have current Community CPR and First Aid or be willing to become certified. Criminal background and Sexual Offender checks are required.

Benefits:
