Online: Intersectional Environmentalism Series: Affordable Housing in California
Event Description

The buildings we create affect the communities and the environment they rest within. Join us on March 31st to discuss the affordable housing crisis in the golden state, the third event in our Intersectional Environmentalism series.

Everyone should be able to benefit from the health benefits of green buildings. Hear speaker stories and case studies of LEED Homes that provide safe, equitable, and healthy homes for communities in California. This event will present thought-provocative conversations with leaders in healthy and green affordable housing, including multi-family, ADUs, and other building types.

USGBC advocates for affordable housing that is sustainable, resilient, healthy, and efficient. High standards for affordable housing enable residents to save money on operating costs, enjoy enhanced qualities of life, and experience a greater sense of stability and community. When high-quality housing is offered to vulnerable populations, including those who reside in affordable housing, all citizens may experience the benefits.
