Did you know that the TD Garden has undergone a significant LED lighting retrofit? The project, implemented by SYLVANIA Lighting Solutions of Wilmington, MA, included an audit and survey of the existing lighting system, and installation and commissioning of a new and simpler to manage energy-efficient lighting solution.

According to Hugh Lombardi, Senior Vice president and General Manager of TD Garden, “Delaware North and the Jacobs family are committed to bringing an environmentally responsible approach to all our building projects.....The new LED lighting and lighting controls help the TD Garden by providing better energy efficiency, operational cost reduction, consistent presentation and control, flexibility to address various tenant/client needs, and future opportunities to expand and evolve.”

Enis Pacavar, the Manager of Control Systems Solutions for Orsam Sylvania Lighting Solution, says that the administrative level of the building is using about half the energy used prior to the retrofit. One sigh of the increased efficiency of LEDS is the lower nu,ber of bulbs required to do the job. For example, 166 1,000 watt quartz halide luminaire house lights were replaced with 220 watt LEDs.
