An article by The Washington Post takes a closer look into what NY's plans are for becoming one of the leading states in what many call the "Renewable Energy Revolution". The solution: local micro power grids. The plan, in short, is to have local buildings making power for each other to use that will take pressure off the main grids. This also makes it possible for some building to generate power for other buildings during power outages, a huge problem that NY had to come to terms with during Hurricane Sandy when many buildings in NY lost power for days or even weeks.
