Future-Ready Green Building Tour with USGBC New Jersey: Transforming Carbon Challenges into Solutions, June 24, Jersey City
Event Description
Decarbonizing buildings—addressing operational, embodied, refrigerant, and transportation emissions—is critical to meeting climate goals. The built environment is responsible for over 40% of global carbon emissions and nearly one-third in the U.S.
Join USGBC New Jersey for a Transformation Forum exploring practical tools, resources and strategies to cut emissions, boost market value, and position your portfolio for an ultra-low-carbon future.
This Transformation Forum will include an inside look at Lord Abbett’s new global headquarters — a workplace that demonstrates how ambitious sustainability goals, occupant wellness, and design excellence can work together to shape the future of low-carbon interiors. Spanning the tower’s top five floors, the LEED v4 ID+C Platinum and WELL v2 Platinum project reduced embodied carbon by 34%, energy use by 19.7%, and water consumption by 40%, while delivering an inclusive, experience-driven workplace environment. Attendees will explore how the project team integrated material transparency, responsible sourcing, operational efficiency, wellness, and brand storytelling into every aspect of the design, offering a real-world example of how decarbonization strategies can translate into measurable performance, market leadership, and a more resilient future of work.
