Event Description

The energy performance of the existing UK housing stock is generally very poor and an extensive retrofit programme that utilises the most energy efficient technologies and practices is the only foreseeable way for Greater Manchester and the UK to meet future decarbonisation targets. Not only is policy and regulation changing but technology is also rapidly evolving. This presents major challenges and opportunities for professionals involved in the design, execution and evaluation of retrofit projects.

The Energy House 2.0 Team at the University of Salford are running a series of online workshops specifically designed to meet needs of construction professionals (architects, consultants, surveyors and project managers) who wish to gain a deeper understanding of building retrofit. Each workshop will be 1-3 hours, focussing on a specific aspect of retrofit.

These on-line workshops will be facilitated by experts in their field with contributions from other specialists. Attendance is free of charge.

Session 1: Introduction to Retrofit A short 1 hour introduction to the Energy House 2.0 Laboratory, retrofit and overview of subsequent workshops. Prof William Swan, Director of the Energy House Labs, University of Salford
