Join us at the LEED Gold Grounds For Sculpture Museum for cutting edge education, live music, LEED plaque presentation, & networking... 

This event - including the scavenger hunt - takes place in the LEED Gold Museum building & is rain or shine!

THE SUSTAINABLE TRIFECTA: Triple net zero energy, water & waste is the cutting edge in green buildings today. We have the technology now to make it happen. This 1.5 hour session will show you how you can integrate this into your projects and where this is being done to reduce or eliminate the impacts of buildings and communities on the Planet. (1.5 CEUs)

EARTH DAY AFTER PARTY: Networking, art scavenger hunt, GFS LEED plaque presentation, plus Kevin Grossman and/or members of the Homeless Apians Band will perform an incredible set of sounds from one of a kind instruments made of old recycled stuff. In addition, SUN LAB Studio will demonstrate how they use the sustainable power of the sun to make music.

USGBC NJ is a non-profit membership organization focused solely on advancing green building and sustainable communities. As New Jersey’s green building advocate and education resource, USGBC NJ provides excellent educational programs, events, green building tours, and networking. Our members represent the entire spectrum of New Jersey’s green building community.

  • Speakers / Presenters
    • Jason Kliwinski is a LEED Fellow, Faculty, BD&C/O&M ap with two decades of experience. Jason has been involved in LEED projects since 2003 and the practice of green architecture since 1995. His work spans multiple market sectors and building sizes, including carbon neutrality master planning, net zero energy building design and numerous LEED certifications. Jason will discuss opportunities and challenges of achieving net zero energy and water results on projects.

      Michael Buono has been involved in more than 100 LEED projects, in charge of the recycling efforts that have achieved some of the highest landfill diversion rates in the country. His expertise is waste recycling, management, and market development. He is a Recycling Certification Institute verification body for material recovery facilities. Michael has helped define what net zero waste is. He will discuss his experiences with achieving this on various project types and new opportunities and challenges.
