Duties & Responsibilities (more specifics available online):
The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities aims to transform the building industry through a commitment to design-centric strategy that directly links research outcomes to the development of new processes, systems, and products. By strongly emphasizing innovation and multi-disciplinary collaboration, the Center will work to promote holistic change within the built environment, namely the creation and continued improvement of sustainable, high performance buildings and cities.

The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities is seeking a Director of Administration who will be responsible for ensuring that the Center's programming, external relations, and communications reflects the Center's core mission and strategic priorities as outlined by the founding faculty director. The Director of Administration will provide leadership on and oversee day-to-day operations with overall responsibility for effective and timely management of projects and programs.

Basic Qualifications:
-Advanced academic degree in Design, Economics, Business or related discipline, required, with minimum of 8 years' experience in academic administration and program management required.
-Familiarity with Microsoft office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.

Additional Qualifications:
-PhD or other doctoral degree preferred.
-Excellent writing skills and the ability to synthesize data in clear written form are required.
-Must have ability to handle highly sensitive information with complete discretion, listen well, synthesize multiple viewpoints, and provide strategic recommendations. Ability to resolve complex problems with a high degree of independent thinking. Strong communication skills and proven expertise in budgeting and personnel management.
-Advanced knowledge of project management and program development, with excellent writing skills. Capable of effectively managing multiple projects and responsibilities, as well as leading the Center's program and administrative staff.
