The Bridge to 2030 educational series invites Pittsburgh to delve into topics integral to 2030 District progress, including energy, water, transportation, indoor air quality, and financing.

  • Make My Trip Count (MMTC) Commuter Survey Public Data Dashboard  
  • Isaac Smith, Pittsburgh 2030 District Senior Director, Data & Performance Director, Green Building Alliance
    • Join us for the final installment of the Make My Trip Count commuter survey data! Isaac will be unveiling our public data dashboard of the results, where data nerds like us can take a deep dive into the commuting habits of those who work and study in Pittsburgh.
  • Metro21: Smart Cities & Transportation
  • Karen Lightman, Executive Director, Metro21: Smart Cities Institute
    • With intelligent traffic control systems such as Surtrac, travel times are reduced by 40%, with cars spending 40% less time at intersections and emissions are reduced by 20-30%.
    • A truly smart city must go beyond the technology and use human-centered design to develop and co-create solutions with end-user citizen in mind. In this presentation, Ms. Lightman will discuss the use of problem-solving, solutions-focused technology to improve quality of life. She will also share best practice and case studies of technology deployment in the public realm in partnership with the community.
  • Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Update, Battery Electric Bus Program, Open Data & Mapping Applications
  • Amy Silbermann, Director of Planning, Port Authority of Allegheny County
    • Port Authority will give a brief update on its latest Bus Rapid Transit project, its battery-electric bus program, and will share out on open data and mapping applications that they have been developing.
