Online: Challenge Spotlight: Carbon & Circularity
Event Description

Join as we showcase how innovation challenges can be a great tool to advance the use of a circular approaches to transition towards energy efficiency – both in the built environment and in other energy intensive industries.

During this event, we will zoom in on two NYSERDA supported challenges and through these examine how circular economy is being addressed in a New York setting. The challenge programs are: Firstly The Empire Building Challenge, which enables the progression of new technologies, alternative material choices and embedded carbon awareness, by engaging directly with building owners. Secondly The Carbon to Value Initiative, which is an international accelerator program that through industry collaborations aim to test innovate solutions to decarbonize energy intensive production, through upcycling technologies.

As to provide an international outlook to the discussion, two trendsetting organizations from Denmark will be sharing how they are working with these same challenges – hence creating circular buildings and bringing upcycling to the hard-to-decarbonize industries.
