Free Webinar: Building Resiliency in the Roaring Fork Valley
Event Description

How can communities be resilient? By adding renewables and microgrids! Two summers ago during Lake Christine Fire, Aspen was one transmission line away from losing power for days to a week or so. That was an eye-opening experience for the community, since then Holy Cross Energy has been focusing on adding renewables to the grid and getting micro grids in place. Please join Holy Cross Energy, CORE and Sunsense Solar to learn about this process and how to get your home to be a part of it!

Learning Objectives :

  • Understand the basics of energy collection, energy storage and localized and regional energy distribution.
  • Implement strategies that can get you LEED points in Advanced Energy Metering, Demand Response and Renewable Energy Production.
  • Learn how to get solar on your house with the help of grant money and how the installers calculate and install the right solar array for maximum solar potential.
  • Learn how microgrids can help offset and mitigate peak energy loads in the system and make the entire system more resilient to outages and other events.
