Free Green Building Tour - Hotchkiss School LEED Certified Buildings , May 10, 5:30 pm, Lakeville
Event Description

Join CTGBC's Green Schools Committee and Centerbrook Architects for a FREE event tour of multiple LEED certified buildings at The Hotchkiss School's scenic Lakeville, CT campus.

Among sustainable practices at the school the students are serving their own farm-grown food in the dining hall, choosing renewable energy sources, and making a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020. The school tries to relate complex environmental issues to students’ everyday lives, using the school’s natural landscape as a real-world laboratory in which students can study everything from limnology to the effects of climate change on native plant species. Students graduate from Hotchkiss with the tools they need to take responsibility for their collective ecological future.

On tour, their Award Winning LEED Platinum Biomass Facility, LEED Certified Esther Eastman Music Center, the LEED Gold Monahan Building, plus the LEED Gold Flinn and Edelman Dormitories.
