Event Description

This webinar will highlight Midwest-specific energy strategies.

This webinar will explore what is interesting in buildings now and how energy has been affected by under-occupancy. It will then dive into zero energy and offer a few interesting regional case studies. Also, it will challenge the audience to think about how their work in the energy impacts climate change. The session will include an introductory presentation, a moderated discussion and ample opportunity for audience questions.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will be able to:

  • Learn about a facility that has improved over a decade and is within striking distance of zero energy status.
  • Understand how similar facilities can approach this zero-energy or zero-carbon path in a cost-effective and deliberate way.
  • Identify how a facility, once at low enough energy consumption, can consider how to ‘get to zero’ on-site OR if on-site zero is not possible, mechanisms to engage off-site.
  • Participate in a moderated discussion about making serious changes in how we, as green building professionals, approach projects to push towards a zero carbon future.
