Webinar - Sustainable + Contemporary Commercial Restroom Materials, April
Event Description

When designing a restroom or other space, professionals are often faced with the challenge of selecting materials that function, appeal to the senses, and contribute to green building initiatives. In this course, we will explore various material options available to the design professional as well as provide practical solutions that designers may want to consider when specifying a product that can offer sustainability, durability, and even promote a healthier environment for people. Additionally, the design professional will learn more about HDPE, including its attributes, composition, design options, and sustainable contributions. We'll also take a look at why product transparency and responsible manufacturing are important considerations when specifying a sustainable product that is able to reduce energy consumption, recycle waste materials, and offer other benefits to the environment and its occupants.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of five material options available for restroom partitions to discover products that offer durability, sustainability, and safety features.
  2. Discuss the characteristics to HDPE and explain how it promotes a healthier environment for building occupants.
  3. Analyze why the life-cycle assessment and the life-cycle cost analysis are having an impact on product specification on how that is affecting green building certification programs.
  4. Explain ways that manufacturers can make conscientious choices that specifically benefit the environment and why those business practices should be considered when products have the capacity to contribute to a healthier environment for people
