Demand for Green Building Expected to Continue Fast-Paced Growith

The United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) 2015 Building Economic Study reports that green construction spending is expected to grow 15.1 percent each year. Annual spending is expected to reach $224 billion in 2018. This boom in sustainable construction means not only better performing and more green buildings, but it also means more jobs. Green construction will contribute to 1.1 million jobs and $75.6 million in wages by 2018. The green building market is already growing at a faster rate than general construction, and this trend is expected to continue. The green construction sector will account for more than one-third of all the construction jobs in the United States by 2020. Why is there a skyrocketing demand for green construction?
