Workshop for State Officials: Bringing the Benefits of Solar to Low- and Moderate-Income Residents, June 14
Event Description

The Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) is offering a special opportunity for state officials to participate in a full-day workshop on low- and moderate-income (LMI) solar. The workshop will be held in Washington, D.C. on June 14th, and is only open to state employees. Workshop attendees who request travel support will receive reimbursement covering most or all of their travel and hotel costs.
The workshop will examine the challenges states face in promoting LMI solar and will highlight ideas for overcoming those challenges. Participants will engage leading experts and peers from across the country in discussions on such topics as financing, using community solar to advance solar for LMI households, LMI solar+storage as a strategy to reduce lifecycle costs, and harnessing existing poverty and housing programs for solar. The workshop will help state officials identify and plan appropriate strategies for LMI solar for their particular state.
This workshop is being conducted through CESA’s Sustainable Solar Education Project, which provides information and educational resources to state and municipal officials on strategies to ensure distributed solar electricity remains consumer friendly and accessible for LMI households. The Sustainable Solar Education Project is managed by CESA and is funded through the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative’s Solar Training and Education for Professionals program.
