Women in Sustainability - Columbia NY
Event Description

An increasing number of women are pursuing careers in sustainability and rising to leadership positions within the industry. The Earth Institute, the M.S. in Sustainability Management Program, and the M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy Program at Columbia University are pleased to invite you to a panel event on professional development for women working in sustainability. The panelists will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities for women in this field, as well as to some of the universal challenges that many professional women face today. One common challenge many women face is establishing a work-life balance after having children while staying on track with career goals. The panelists will discuss how they’ve overcome such challenges in their careers, and share personal advice, tips and resources they found helpful.

Moderated by Alison Miller, Deputy Director of Management at the Earth Institute, panelists include:
Mona Benisi, Senior Director of Sustainability, Simon Property Group
Stephanie Johnston, Director, Sustainable Business (USA), the HEINEKEN Company
Bhakti Mirchandani, Alternative Investment Manager
Melissa Wright, Senior Associate, Environment Team at Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Join us on Tuesday, February 27th at 5:00pm in the Columbia University’s Faculty House. This event is free and open to the public, and the panel will be followed by a reception where guests can continue the discussion informally over wine, beer and light appetizers.
