Event Description

How is climate change impacting communities across the West?

About this event

Local economies reliant on snow sports are facing significant risk, extreme heat is impacting cities, agricultural lands and forests, while wildland and urban fires are degrading our air and quality of life. The Western Resilience Series will address these related issues that are ubiquitous across the region with expert speakers and a chance for community engagement and solutioning. Join us for a three-part series of lunch hour programs focused on Snow, Heat and Fire.

  • Karema Seliem, LEED Specialist, Sustainable Sites & Integrative Process, U.S. Green Building Council
  • Marty Pool, Sustainability Program Manager, City of Durango
  • Salem Afeworki, Energy and Sustainability Services Manager, City of Costa Mesa
