Western Mass Green Consortium at Green Night, June 14
Event Description

Right now may be the most exciting, dangerous, and important time to be alive in all of human history. Dire environmental crises insist that we quickly upgrade to a new way of life that will sustain us and our world far into the future. We are not changing fast enough, and our focus on bad news and fear holds us back. But because of the way our environment, health, economy, and society are interconnected, making a manageable number of changes can improve conditions on many fronts and turn a downward spiral into an upward spiral. This is illustrated by looking at several actions we could take to significantly help the climate. Solving our problems is easier than we might think, with solutions that can benefit citizens rather than require them to sacrifice. What’s more, getting onto a sustainable path can create an economic boom and more peaceful world. We already have the capacities and tools to create a health and environmental revolution. Doing so will require commitment and individual and collective actions to green our technology and economy, strengthen our democracy, and create social equality. Specific actions you and I can take now will help us and our world thrive, starting immediately.
