Event Description

Professor John D. Macomber, Co-Author of Healthy Buildings, How Indoor Spaces Drive Performance, and Co-Keynote Presenter for the 2020 CTGBC Green Building Awards, will present a webinar Putting the Building to Work for Your Client, The Business Case for Healthy Buildings on December 15 at 4 p.m. EST.

John will review the financial math and positive impacts of a healthy building for landlords and their tenants. He will help design and construction professionals communicate the value proposition of healthy building design and the investment value of building to a healthy building standard with certification systems like Fitwel, LEED and WELL.

Humans are estimated to spend 90% of their lives indoors, and it may be higher in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Scientific research shows that the buildings we live, learn, work, play and sleep in can have a major impact on our health, productivity and overall wellness. But it’s not always easy for architects, engineers and contractors to persuade owners, developers and tenants about the business case for:

  • healthy building materials
  • going beyond the building code for ventilation
  • increasing filtration of particulates to improve indoor air quality
  • the many ways the indoor air we breathe is affecting our bodies and our ability to focus, learn, and be more productive

Join to learn how to make the business case for healthy buildings at this webinar as Professor John Macomber discusses the foundations of a healthy building, how smart technology can boost employee performance and the financial business case behind the healthy building movement and what it means for your clients, owners, developers, CEOs, and CFOs.
