The next Global GreenTag International Conversations' segment on Wednesday, March 30th is featuring Meryl Sukumar, a Sustainability Consultant and Mentor who will engage in an interesting conversation with our own LCA specialists in Circular Economy (and Life Cycle) thinking - Jill Jing and Dr Nana Bortsie-Ayree from the GreenTag Product Assessment Team.

Meryl Sukumar is an accomplished strategic and technical expert with over a decade of experience working on complex energy (renewables) and sustainability projects. Meryl has worked within the boutique and global advisory/consulting firms for various clients, including commercial, manufacturing (food), industrial (water, power) and governmental organisations from councils to Australian Defense.

At this hour-long conversation with Meryl, which is a part of Global GreenTag's Ethical Manufacturers initiative, webinar participants will take-away:

  • A better understanding of what the term, Circular Economy means and the difficulties that Australia faces.
  • How Circular Economy connects to the conversation on Carbon and,
  • How rating carbon (especially in products) is so critical to its success.

    • Meryl Sukumer refined expertise in process and system optimisation to reduce energy, resources, and carbon emissions to lower impact and costs. Her quick strategic thinking, management, and integration of sustainable frameworks build resilience and lower operational risk in the long term. As a successful technical and strategic entrepreneur with experience in climate change services, she effectively communicates complex problems across and up the spectrum, with assertive negotiation skills to bring clients and leaders along the journey. Eager to learn, grow and expand, she is always seeking to tackle today's social and environmental problems for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

      Dr Nana Bortsie-Ayree is Global GreenTag's Lead Product Assessor and also manages the Global GreenTag Environmental Product Declaration Program. He is a Sustainability and LCA Specialist, holding a Master of Engineering in International Material Flow Management and a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Administration.

      Jill Jing is a Product Assessor with Global GreenTag, bringing hands-on experience in Circular Economy thinking as an environmental consultant, developing solutions for myriad environmental problems, including greenhouse gas generation/emission assessments, waste strategy reviews and resource recovery assessment in both private and government sectors.

      Specialised in product certification and verification strategies, Brett has worked in the green building space for over a decade as a champion for sustainable products. He has helped progressive manufacturers around the world to plan and implement third party assessment pathways for their sustainable product lines. Particularly for green building products that comply with building rating tools and programs, focused upon reducing environmental footprint and creating safer and healthier environments for people to live and work in, like Green Star®, the WELL Building Standard™ and LEED®
