Event Description

Learn about the latest advanced optical daylighting technology and the product category of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDD), which makes daylighting a space as easy as applying traditional lighting equipment.

After a brief overview of typical daylighting strategies and key energy and human performance based reasons for daylighting today’s buildings, the audience is introduced to the three technology zones that are common to every TDD. Commercially available component
technologies are compared and contrasted, allowing the designer to make informed decisions when choosing the appropriate TDD technology for their application.

Learning Objectives:
1. What are the reasons for using daylight?
2. What are the daylighting strategies?
3. What are the technology zones that make up
a TDD?
4. List the tools available to design with TDDs.
5. Learn how others have incorporated TDDs in
their projects.
