  • 12 January 2022
  • Start time : 04:15 PM
  • End time : 08:00 PM
  • Event Host : CSI Boston Chapter
Event Description

Changes in recent editions of the International Building Code to allow taller wood frame structures and the use of Cross-laminated timber have significantly enhanced the ability to build taller housing structure in wood construction.  The changes are allowing “high-rise” height, area, and construction type options for mixed use structures previously not possible. This presentation will examine the history of wood construction, review the IBC code changes relevant to tall (and high-rise) wood structures, and overview the use of CLT in housing over the past decade and into the future.
