Event Description

The annual IMPACT conference is the leading event for sustainable development in the Midwest. Drawing hundreds of building professionals, the conference features the latest updates for LEED, green business programs, new technology platforms, and provides robust educational sessions and networking opportunities.

IMPACT is a USGBC regional event hosted by our local communities: Central Plains, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri Gateway, Nebraska Flatwater, North Dakota and Wisconsin. This year, IMPACT will be hosted in partnership with Green Schools Conference and Expo (GSCE), a national event bringing together all the players involved in making green schools a reality.

Sustainability

Sustainability is the foundation of GSCE x IMPACT. The GSCE x IMPACT sustainability program addresses environmental impact through seven objectives:

  1. Move toward a zero-waste event
  2. Increase stakeholder education and engagement
  3. Improve sustainable sourcing
  4. Improve performance tracking
  5. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  6. Positively impact communities
  7. Catalyze the advancement of green building initiatives and sustainable operations within the hospitality industry

GSCE x IMPACT 2019 is hosted at the Saint Paul RiverCentre, a LEED Gold facility. The event’s energy usage will be offset by Windsource®, a renewable energy program between the RiverCentre and Xcel Energy.
