Keep Glass Looking Beautiful and Reduce Maintenance Costs with a Protective Coating
Event Description

In this one hour course, participants will evaluate low maintenance protective coatings as a solution for many common problems encountered during the life-cycle of building. Some of the easily recognized benefits of an easy to clean coasting including a decrease in environmental damage to exterior glazing, significant reduction in building maintenance, improved photo-voltaic performance, and enhancement of the forward-facing aesthetics. Additionally, a variety of applications will be explored, from shower enclosures to exterior glazing, while simultaneously explaining the operational, environmental and inherent benefits to this technology.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Describe the environmental benefits of protective coatings
  2. List the operational impacts for building exteriors treated with low maintenance protective coatings.
  3. Asses how the use of protective coatings can contribute to LEED v4 BD+C credits
  4. Identify problems resulting from environmental damage to glazing.
