Event Description

The 2025 code cycle takes effect January 1, 2026! This course provides an overview of key changes to Title 24 Part 6 Energy Code, with a focus on architects, builders, building department staff and others in the construction industry. 3C-REN will provide background on the reasons behind the changes and impacts for projects, particularly in the Central Coast region.

Learning Objectives -

  • Identify Big Picture Goals of the California Energy Commission and how those goals influence requirements for energy performance, indoor air quality and fuel source.
  • Understand the organisational changes to the 2025 Energy Code.
  • Recognise key updates including building envelope, lighting, mechanical and DHW systems, renewable energy and storage and field verification.
  • Review recent housing legislation AB 130 (AB 306) and its impact on the energy code cycle.
