Event Description

This three hour seminar is for building owners and managers on energy-related local laws impacting a majority of NYC’s larger buildings.

This seminar is presented by the NYC Sustainability Help Center, a free resource for building owners, property managers, and energy efficiency professionals seeking help with sustainability building laws and compliance in New York City. The Sustainability Help Center is managed by the CUNY Building Performance Lab, which delivers free and low-cost training in energy efficient operations to building professionals at every level.

BECS will provide industry professionals with the legislative context of the building laws, how they complement each other, strategies for compliance, and resources for further assistance.

Laws covered include:

· LL33 of 2018, LL95 of 2019: Building Energy Efficiency Grades

· LL84 of 2009, LL133 of 2016: Benchmarking

· LL97 of 2019: Limits on Building Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions

· LL87 of 2009: Energy Audits and Retro-commissioning

· LL85 of 2009: Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC)

· LL88 of 2009, LL132 and LL134 of 2016: Lighting and Sub-metering

· LL92 and LL94 of 2019: Green Roofs and Solar

· LL96 of 2019 – Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE): Loan Program for Sustainable Energy - PACE
