Event Description

Join the Building Energy Exchange for a presentation and discussion of the highly anticipated 80 Flatbush project in Brooklyn. Featuring 200 units of affordable housing, two schools, and two towers, one at 840 feet and one at 510 feet, the project incorporates a pair of existing buildings on the site and will transform an underutilized block alongside busy Flatbush avenue. Jared Della Valle, CEO of Alloy Development, who designed the two towers, will present the project alongside Stephen Cassell, Founding Principal of Architecture Research Office, the designer of the school. The 350-seat Khalil Gibran International Academy, a high school sitting at the base of the towers and contained within the same building as the 350-seat primary school, is targeting Passive House certification. The mixed-use project also includes 670 units of market rate housing, significant office space, and community facilities.
