Food Security
Event Description

The impact of food waste is undeniable.  Here in the US alone, more than 72B pounds of food is wasted, not including food wasted in the home, and this is in a country where more than 36 million people are food insecure.  When you look at the global impact, more than 1/3 of the food produced isn’t consumed.  This food loss is valued at $1 trillion, and weighs 1.3 billion tonnes.  If food waste were a country it would be the 3rd largest emitter (after US and China).  Please join the conversation, where we’ll discuss innovative ways organizations around the globe are ensuring food is used for its highest and best purpose, to feed those in need, as well as barriers to accelerating this important work.
