GreenBuilt Home Series: All-Electric Homes
Event Description

The first program in the series will be held on Wednesday, July 8 and feature four all-electric homes located in Chicago, Evanston, Marengo and Forest Park, Illinois. Join this first session in the series to hear how each home pursued an all-electric path, benefits for the resident, and lessons learned in the construction process. This session will also provide a brief overview of the ComEd Electric Homes New Construction offering.

Homes featured in this session will include:

  • Evanston All-Electric ADU is an all-electric new coach house (or accessory dwelling unit), built behind an existing two-flat, that demonstrates how sustainability and social equity can work hand-in-hand through a public/private partnership. (Evanston, IL)
  • Edison Park Zoetic Home is an all-electric home inspired by WELL and PHIUS standards which features an ultra-tight envelope construction and reduction of thermal bridging, high indoor air quality, and rigid insulation. (Chicago, IL)
  • Burkhardt Court Townhomes will feature a row of 3 townhomes built with three different HVAC systems; one with a natural gas connection and two with different all-electric systems. Presenters will provide a performance comparison after nearly one year of occupancy. (Forest Park, IL)
  • Wildwood Passive Power Model is a model home in a new development, Wildwood, that will converge Passive House technologies with solar and energy storage in order to avoid any negative duck curve effect and require no peak power plant energy for most of the year. (Marengo, IL)
